What a Great weekend we had at the Santa Cruz Ranch/Headwaters for Heroes Gold Star Spouses Hunt

What a Great weekend we had at the Santa Cruz Ranch/Headwaters for Heroes Gold Star Spouses Hunt. All four women landed at least one deer during this event, including two nice eight point bucks.
These fine ladies came to us from Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Texas. They all were excellent shots and mastered the cold wet weather never backing down.It was easy to see that they carried their husbands warrior spirits on this hunt.
We cannot thank our hosts at the Santa Cruz Ranch enough for such a great hunt.

Santa Cruz ranch Gold Star Childrens Hunt.

It was a great weekend for the Headwaters for Heroes and Santa Cruz Ranch Gold Star Childrens Hunt. We had a total of 4 teenagers attend this hunt coming from Biloxi, Miss, Katy, Texas and Krum, Texas.
It was a successful hunt, getting 2 bucks and 4 does. But the number of deer is not the most important success. We had four  kids that have never been hunting come out and learn to shoot and bag a deer. Talk about an awesome weekend. We all had a great time at the Santa Cruz Ranch.
We can’t thank our gracious hosts Stan and Gerry Sigman for all they do for our Gold Star Families and our Combat Wounded by opening up their ranch to the families and the veterans and allowing Headwaters for Heroes to be a part of this giving back.
A great deal of thanks goes out to Peter and Jessica Johns of the Santa Cruz Ranch for all they did in helping put this hunt together.

First Santa Cruz Ranch Hunt

The First Headwaters for Heroes/Santa Cruz Ranch is in the books and while it was not as successful as we would have liked we had a great time with some great people. When you combine the warm weather with ample food for the deer in the pasture it is no wonder that we did not see the mature bucks we were hoping to see. But that did not stop our warriors from taking down 3 does and 3 spikes along with 3 hogs. All that attended had a great time and we cannot thank our gracious hosts at the Santa Cruz Ranch for all they are doing to make these hunts the success they are. The next Headwaters for Heroes/Santa Cruz Ranch hunt will be in November and is a Gold Star Children hunt, and we can’t wait for it to get here. Thanks to everyone for their help.
