Annual Meeting Results

We just wrapped up our 2nd regular meeting for Headwaters for Heroes for the 2017 year.

 

While attendance was lite (it is summer), we had a great deal of participation by all that attended.

 

The new slate of board of trustees was approved and officer elections took place.

 

The officers (upon final approval by the board of directors) will stay the same with Steven Sweeney as president, Danny Denson as Vice President, Lori Hollender as treasurer and Donna Sweeney as Secretary.

 

We are half way through the year and we have a lot of exciting things come yet this year.

 

Here is what is yet to come:
  • July 7,8,9 is the H4H/Santa Cruz Ranch Gold Star Wives Fishing event
  • July 14,15,16 is the H4H/Texas Hunt Lodge Exotic hunt.
  • July 21,22 H4H will be attending the Trophy Game Records awards banquet.
  • August 12th H4H/Nature RV Healing veterans BBQ fund raiser in Kingsville, Texas
  • August 25,26,27 is the H4H/Santa Cruz Ranch Purple Heart Fishing Event.
  • Sept 8,9,10 is the 6th Annual H4H Lake LBJ Fishing Tournament being held in Kingsland, Texas
  • Sept 24 is the 3rd regular H4H business meeting, being held in Harper , Texas
  • Oct 20,21 is the 2nd Annual H4H BBQ Cook-off and Car Show being held at headwaters saloon in Harper, Texas.
  • Oct 20,21 is the H4H/Santa Cruz Ranch White tail deer management hunt.
  • Nov 10,11,12 is the H4H/Santa Cruz Ranch White tail deer management hunt.
  • Dec 15,16,17 is the H4H/Santa Cruz Ranch White tail deer management hunt
  • So if you are wanting to volunteer please let us know.
I encourage all of you to pay attention to the calendar of events as we will be adding more hunting and fishing events over the next few weeks.

 

We have 6 more hunting events in process of setting dates.

 

As you can see we are extremely busy, in fact this will be our busiest year yet for H4H.

 

So we need help in many areas from fund raising to cooking.

 

Please go to the website and sign up under the “Do you want to get involved” tab, there you can let us know how you can help.

 

We are a volunteer organization so find your talent and jump on board.

 

H4H is gaining more and more attention (good attention), and we owe it all to our volunteers that have the most giving hearts of any organization out there.

Headwaters for Heroes announces the launch of its new online hunting and fishing sign up form.

 

We have made it easier and less time consuming.

 

As we have grown we have experienced a lot of trial and error in who we reach out and collect the information needed to serve our Veterans, Gold Star Families and Active duty service men and women.

 

The new sign up will allow H4H to better build our data base of those we intend to serve.

 

Unfortunately our previous systems did not achieve the results we desired, from a data collection stand point.

 

Having said that we need everyone that has signed up in the past to go to our website and sign up again, or click on the link below.

 

 

For those of you that are new please check H4H out and sign up.

 

Once you sign up H4H will follow up with a more defined questionnaire, and requests for your DD-214 unless your active duty.

 

We have an amazing year planned with more hunts already committed than we have ever had.

 

We look forward to hopefully meeting all of you this year.

Next Regular Meeting for Headwaters for Heroes is set for June 25th, 2017.

This is an extremely important meeting as this is the trustee and officer election meeting.
So if you are interested in serving on the board of trustee for Headwaters for Heroes please let us and know and plan to be at this meeting.
H4H is always looking for dedicated hard working individuals to serve.
H4H holds 4 regular meetings per year and H4H does expect that you be able to attend at least 3 of the 4 regular meetings.
Meeting will be held at the H4H office located at 229 South Ranch Road 783 Harper, Texas 78631 next to Headwaters Saloon.
The meeting will start promptly at 3:00 pm.
H4H will provide a meal after the meeting, however it is BYOB.

Harlii Perry a Harper High School Student painted her interpatation of Chris Kyle the American Snipper and donated this outstanding painting to the auction. Harlii is an extremely talented artist and more importantly an extemely caring and giving individual. Headwaters for Heroes cannot thank Harlii enough for her support.

Upcoming Auction Items for the Headwaters For Heroes 5th Annual Combat Veterans Benefit

Texas Hunt Lodge is pleased to donate a Trophy Wild Boar Hunt for (2) Hunters on their Ranch, the Little V in Harper, Texas.   Included is the trophy fee for both (2) Trophy Wild Boars, Guide Fee, and Field Dressing of Hogs.   Hunters may choose their method of take including Archery, Crossbow, Rifle, Muzzleloader or Handgun.   Guide will transport Hogs to local meat processor and/or taxidermist in the Harper/Kerrville area.

Not Included: Taxidermy, Cape/Quarter, Meat processing, hunt license, and gratuity for the Guide.

Hunt must be taken from now until October 31, 2017.

H4H announces its first ever entry raffle for the H4H Fifth Annual Sporting Clay Shoot being held 29 April 2017 in Harper, TX

If you enter between now and 16 April 2017, you will be eligible for a drawing for no entry fees.

16 April 2017 Headwaters For Heroes will be drawing 10 names and you will be notified if your name is drawn.

If your name is drawn, you will pay no entry fees for the sporting clay shoot and will be our guest for BBQ meal and crawfish boil.
